There seems to be a lot of enthusiasm for second production runs on Ohm - and wouldn't it be good news! However whats missing from all this dialogue is any objective look at the Building Energy Management System (BEMS) market and where Ohm fits in that context. Too many people talking about blue sky without any objective assessment of the technical capability of the product or the commercial position vis a vis revenue per unit versus other BEMS products, margin structures etc. Is there any objectivity - or is everyone just along for the ride on Buddy's magic carpet?

In technical terms how does Ohm compare with other BEMS systems - communication range, data acquisition rates, memory, platform views and capability and other technical specs versus the rest of the BEMS market product offer? In commercial terms how does Ohm pricing compare with other BEMS products, what is the margin structure for Buddy (on hardware and software) versus others?

The BEMS market is one where size estimates range from $5~10bn just three years out from here - which is great - but it also means Buddy isn't the first one to address it or the only participant with product and capability. It also means a lot of product is being sold today, by a lot of businesses. And its therefore highly unlikely that Buddy has any edge on that sales process without either a superior technical capability or superior pricing or commercial value proposition.

So is it too much to ask to ground out on some reality before suggesting its game on for a 10,000 unit production run? For starters 10,000 units within a 12 month period is 200 units per week which is 200 sales people at one sale each per week each or 40 sales people at one sale each per day per person. If Buddy can do that - that would be fantastic, but don't underestimate how big an undertaking and achievement that is...

Damm - maybe the magic carpet ride is easy than reality and more fun!
