Sorry Lux, its been a few days. Just read your post again since absolutely nothing of interest ever happens on Biotron.

I note you say that you are "vehemently opposed" to things "if it starts to override our own wonderful & treasured culture". I thought this a very interesting comment. Whilst I support your sentiment I do wonder how you reconcile that position with your staunch pro-American view including that Australia should further adopt more US values by marching MAGA style into everything.

Let me ask, is there any country which has watered down or replaced what you might call Australian culture with its own more than the US has? Is there any country which blatantly goes around shoving its culture down the throats of other countries more than the US does?

Many countries have helped to diversify Australian culture but there is one specific country which just wholesale replaces other cultures with its own. Just look at our diets. Many of us grew up on meat and three veg but post war influxes of Greek and Italians dragged us into new gastric experiences and traditions. Then along came the Asian influxes with the Vietnamese and Chinese and they took things to a whole new level.

But then there is the US with Mcdonalds, KCF, Burger King, Coca Cola, Pepsi and all the shite that makes their culture the fattest on the planet. That was their contribution along with "reality TV", and "US English" alternate spellings for no apparent reason. Not to mention Australians now generally renaming everything to American terms. Chips and now fries. A root is now a route. A cupboard is now a closet etc and I'm pretty sure that the US came up with most of the letters in LGBTQIA+ and is also where the furies trend originated, ie where people identify as an animal rather than a human. Apparently gender identity wasn't confused enough for Americans so we now have species identity issues also.

If you have any love for things Australian culture then start with blocking a good chunk of the US social media that you are addicted to. At least your latest man crush is a fat, egotistical Aussie bloke rather than a fat, egotistical Amercian bloke. One step in the right direction but I still prefer to have my crushes on women but thats personal choice I guess !

PS. I did laugh when you also wrote "people from other cultures & backgrounds coming to my country". Albo said its not your country and that you should start paying rent unless you are accepted into a specific minority group. Again I've seen so much interest in what happening in the US and so little about what has been happening here.
