got to have cheap energy to drive the turbines...fossil fuels will be used for at least 30 years...until renewable energy can be stored for absolute supply..(has it been exhausted...the idea...high dam gravity feed through turbine..then captured in low dam...then renewable energy,..say solar or wind power.when available,pumps back up to high dam....voila...a closed renewable system)....no doubt i'll be told...old idea
