This morning the NI DUP leader, Arlene Foster said that the EU conditions which set the structure for the  Good Friday Agreement would no longer apply post Brexit. This is of concern because the DUP holds the balance of power in Westminister
and the EU endorsed Good Friday conditions is the glue that maintains peace in NI.

Bill Clinton regards the Good Friday Agreement as one of his greatest Foreign Policy achievements

While Teresa May  spruiks a soft NI border post Brexit, if she does not toe the line to the DUP, the Prime Minister's
tenure in office may be shorter than she thinks.

The DUP sees a soft border post Brexit  as defacto Irish unification. For them the thorny elements of the Good Friday Agreement is that if the majority Irish both North and South of the Border vote for unification then the EU, UK & Southern Ireland will agree to it and this is why, IMO, Foster made her statement today. Unionists would never agree to referendum on North/South unification.

The Republic gave up its territorial claim to NI under pressure from Bill Clinton in order to achieve the unification referendum agreement which underpins the Good Friday Agreement and it looks like Foster wants this wiped out post Brexit.
