As I understand the matter and from what I have read - a lot of English people , hedge funds,superannuation funds and insurance underwrites (Lloyds of London etc) have foreign investments all around the world.
They are worried by exiting the euro the English pound will drop significantly (and it will) so they are pulling all thier shares at the moment and selling down.
Hence the 30billion that was wiped off the asx in the last 3days.
