Hey Kiwibirdl
From the look of Mr McVeigh's update (see below), IDC have received approval from Porgera JV (Barrick Gold and Porgera Landowners) to connect Mt Kare's access track to Wallie Creek Road, which falls in the Porgera JV tenement.
Once this is completed, this will link Mt Kare to the Highlands Hwy, which goes past Mt Hagen, Wabag, all the way to the Port of Lae.
As the company stated in its August Update, this will enable the company to be able to haul the heavy duty mining and drilling equipment to Mt Kare.
Looking at google maps of the area, Wallie Creek, which sits in the Porgera JV, looks like an operational road, Brian Rodan and ACM only need to complete the access road from Mt Kare to the start of the Porgera tenement. See below.
Here is a close up of the Porgera JV Gold Mine and Wallie Creek Rd. The yellow arrows show the road in the Porgera JV tenement and the green arrows show the access road in Mt Kare which Im assuming Brian will be working on.
Here is a close up of Mt Kare which shows the access road and Mt Kare mine camp.
Looking at George Niumataiwalu's PFS from 2012, this looks like it was the plan back then too, to complete the blue line from Mt Kare to the end of the Mt Kare tenement.
It looks like it is approximately 6-7kms of access track that Brian needs to build/reconstruct.
