A typical ignorant, probably racist western view of countries that have been beaten down by their colonial "masters" or dared to stand up to American imperialism and have suffered the consequences with years of unfair and illegal sanctions. That is why they are down-trodden and their currencies "basket cases".

But these countries are made of human beings that only want a fair go so they can feed and cloth their children and hopefully be able to give them a decent education. That is what BRICS is offering. The chance to join a group that are not intimidated and are more than willing to stand up to the bully.
