well that is certainly true ....but to assume those troubles will lead to the demise of the US and the west is not supported
China too has troubles , India has troubles and russia more than any .

there seems to be a lot of wishful thinking by those hoping for the demise of the US .
reasons for that not being likely are that :
1. no obvious replacemnt - - certainly not BRICS which is such a loose conglomeration and with it's 2 biggest members often at war with each and certainly with competing interests
2.China has the problem of the real estate crash ....as well being beholden to the US and (their ally Europe) for buying most of Chinas exports .
for the latter reason any hard conflict with the US very harmful and any decline from the US also means less Chinese goods purchased .
3.the other members of BRIC's are really quite small economies
4. the long term strength of the US economy

For BRICS ever to be a tight knit group it's interests would need to be spearated from Chinas interests - China is ,on it's own , I think as big an economy as all the rest of BRICS together and dominates hugely .
