Only 1 correction: It was the SANTOS Chairman - Mr Peter Coates who had to delay the meeting not Mr Knox.

Reports are that Peter Coates is a reasonable guy though and needs the time to consider everything. "One of the better Chairman's"..

So lets see, often with these things Chairmans' and executives alike are not completely aware of everything going on in the "front line". Best not to go in all guns blazing and get everyone all defensive from the outset.

I also experienced this in my corporate experience. At or near the top of the food chain you can get taken completely by surprise so it is important communication occurs in good faith to start with.

Should be in interesting final stage in this saga. :)
