At this stage I will vote with the "better the Devil you know" philosophy as I have had no issues with Tom what so ever.
My interest is more in regard to what Ron is up to. Initially I thought he must be buying in to work the arbitrage but he started buying in January, so that doesn't fit. I assume he started buying as he recognised Tom had laid the platform for a bidding war but this really didn't materialise. Once he got detail on the 14 cent capital return then he could see value and continued to buy. At this stage I believe he continues to buy as the buying pattern is still in tact though lighter due to current market conditions
