This is how I rationalise God’s possible existence ...

He reckons that “All ye who believe in me shall be saved “ or something like that.

So even if you’ve been a disbeliever all your life, if you suddenly find yourself standing in front of him on Judgement Day, you really have no choice but to believe. Ergo, you'll be saved.

Makes sense to me, anyway.
