I thought it might be a good idea to pit ourselves against one of the darling WA gold stocks at the moment.
Spartan are being circled as a possible takeover target at the Diggers and Dealers conference in Kalgoorlie this week. Below are a couple of basic comparisons between Spartan and Brightstar.
Spartan:
3.3m oz at 2.62g/t
(Majority underground 100-700m deep). Exploration upside beyond 700m depth at Never Never.
Market cap: $1.34b
Brightstar:
3.0m oz at 1.5g/t
(Majority open pit). Exploration upside at most deposits, along strike and at depth (particularly at Sandstone).
Market cap: $80m
Note: Marketcap will be higher for Brighstar once new shares are issued, but even if MC rises to $130m, we are still looking at being valued at 1/10th of Spartan, with almost the same amount of gold resource (exploration results and open/underground cost comparisons pending).
Surely we are massively undervalued by the market at the moment, especially considering we are cash positive, no debt, and most future exploration will be paid for by ongoing production profits.
Cheap, low capex, ongoing gold production.
