Perhaps its because the quantity (tonnage)and quality (grade) of the GXY spod deposit is not big enough to be a "flagship" project. I cannot remember exactly but I think its sub 20MT and shared with GMM no? Of course the MD will push the brine or else he could be out of (money) a job.
