Another aspect of my belief is that as we come to depend on sourcing everything from the best overseas economic provider then we in fact lose our independence and the ability to stand on our own.
A good example ,I think, is oil refining. Now that we soon wont be refining oil how long would it take to bring this country to its knees if our supply lines were choked off and closed.
The more reliant one is on the work of others then the easier it is for them to control you.
Like I said before there is no such thing as a level playing field so our default position should be one which looks after the long term interests of our country.
