Hawke and Keating wanted a National energy grid, what followed has been a dogs breakfast ever since. instead of pulling together each state did their own thing, SA sold their network for a pittance but were cash strapped from a former Labor Govt ineptitude at the time. Now we have the Weatherill experiment killing us off. By all going their own way looking after their own interest and then progressively going down the renewable path we have ended up where we are today. Can we get back on an even keel...who knows, if self interest is involved it will always come in first. Today's ditherers haven't the gumption to do what is best for the Country no matter which side they come from. Australia being noncompetitive within our business structures because of energy costs and Mr and Mrs average slowing turning of heating and lights will not improve whatever climate problems our world faces. It will however lower our living standards and disadvantage us on many levels.
