I believe this placement and the raising of $8.5m had a lot to do with Alexium getting larger orders than what they anticipated for the time being and planning ahead for further unexpected or expected orders so to maximize their first mover advantage...
Think about it, friday's announcement stated that Alexium has received a purchase order to run a substantial amount of yardage to confirm those results on a larger scale prior to a full commercial launch of the product. This imo could lead to short term cash flow issues for Alexium, by this I mean they will probably have to pay the toll manufacturer before Alexium actually gets paid by this client in the home furnishing market, now imagine if momentum really gets rolling and other opportunities like this pop up around the corner, like splitview has said they need to be in a position to embrace demand and not be limited by funds....
