Having “read the tea leaves” in relation the comments by Santos, I don’t believe there is any chance that Dorado will be developed any time in the next few years. Accordingly, I am now of the opinion that I would prefer for the capital return to proceed.
I have held this stock for far too long and steadily increased my holding over the years believing the share appreciation would be significant (and a wonderful nest egg for my retirement) as it approached production.
Well, this hasn’t happened and I am now retired (where did those years go?) so I would now prefer to have the capital funds returned so that I can use them to invest in equities that provide a return ….. whilst also maintaining my holding in CVN which would virtually become a speccy stock. If it ever does get to production, it will be a nice bonus.
Whilst it has been an exciting journey with Carnarvon, unfortunately the company has been snookered by Kevin Gallagher and the future is entirely out of their hands. This is the reality and I would prefer to have my own control on a proportion of the funds I have invested.
