in my opinion - the assets within this company are "worth" 750 - 900 / share ........potentially more if the oil price rebounds ......
As DSD / Thomps have indicated - this situation is entirely due to management / Board NOT taking any risk abatement decisions ........
IF (and it is an "If" ) the S&P ratings agency downgrade the companies credit rating - THEN, there will be an equity issuance (to pay for the euro denominated bonds issued by Santos Finance Ltd)........the S&p have recently "downgraded" their oil price assumptions ....and gave Santos the "benefit" of the doubt regarding asset sales .........
so - there is "value" in the assets .........but there is also (imho - very) high risks associated ........and those risks are not within the control of the company ......this is why I don't own (even thou it meets my personal value criteria.....)
am sure most would be well aware of these risks ...
