India today revisits some of the famine scenes of the past. Already crippled by the China virus, the big cities are now overwhelmed by starvation of those who were once supported by the dead - husbands & children dead with the virus The bodies pile up in the streets and periodically front end loaders come along and scoop them up. Hunger of course compels a desperation for money to buy food and people who have money are cowering in their homes for fear of their lives. India has known these situations in the past during the Raj but not in the lives of most people alive today.
