Like with most things it's not always black and white. THe west crows about winning Ww2 and although we lost many men the Russians lost a whole generation. 10 times as many. It was Russia who effectively won ww2. Russia has a deep anti nazi patriotism and any thinking person would have sympathy to their position. They are under attack from Nazis reforming in Ukraine for example supported by the West. John McCain and the gang helped overthrow the govt, which led to war in the Russian speaking provinces by invading nazi types. They were then forced to take back Crimea for the same reason. 98% of crimeans voted for this and it was done peacefully.
NATO need to paint Russia as a demon to justify its existence. Especially now north k is no longer such a threat. It's all about money and hopefully it can be watered down and resolved in the long run.
