I think Mann has simply pointed to the newly published hockey-stick mark II paper where the modern record is once again stitched onto a filtered high-uncertainty proxy derived record that eliminates the MWP and said "See - I was right all along". That is a little different to showing that the method and data filtering is valid but lets see if any rebuttals are forthcoming. Others have claimed that the method Mann developed also turns noise into a hockey stick.
The interesting thing will be to see if Mann appeals the court decision in the defamation case he lost recently. I don't know why he didn't accept the challenge to crush the alleged defamer using his data and documentation........but its not a great look.
