"Do you think they will participate in an equity raising where they cannot get out of the new stock they receive?"

What do you mean by "cannot get out"?

Does that mean if I am holding 1000 shares, I won't be able to sell them. Isn't it my right to sell them if I want to (as long as there is any buyer); and who can stop me? I mean will I be restricted by some sort of law to hold the shares unless somebody tells me that share selling is "on".

Sometimes "ignorance is bliss", but now I don't want to be more ignorant about this stock? If you have time, please explain your statement
