Until these future alternative energy sources are in full swing, there will still be demand for fossil fuels.
And while demand is strong, companies will continue to explore and mine.
If these alternative energy sources were viable and profitable, they would be producing energy right now and demand for fossil fuels would be virtually nil.
If australian gas production is halted, it will just happen somewhere else. But hey I guess if its not in your backyard then it doesn't matter.
The source of our problem is developing these energy sources.
