Hi Robbb, BigRoddy & Co.
Congrats gents!!
Looks like some of missed out on the 'League of Extraordinary men', let me give u my version of Blue Steel (think Zoolander) :)
On a serious note, I have a suggestion, looks like the workshop was well rec'd given that the attendees were eager to bounce ideas & learn more about the technicals.
Judging by that, perhaps for the sake of the wider HC community & we know there is one, here's my 50 cents worth,
1) Mayb a roadshow of this type can b arranged once a month/quarter/Half-Yearly in each capital city. So arrangements for a projector/ laptop/ handouts/ folders, etc can b sorted out in the begining.
2) We can start a Capital City Chapter & archive the proceedings/ videofile/ preso on Hotcopper for future reference under the Forums tab in the left frame.
3) Sponsorship from Insto's etc will b welcome.
As an example, one can label this gathering as the Brissie (Spring) Chapter & then have a similar sort of roadshow event for say Syd/ Mlbn/ Perth between now & Xmas.
I know this sounds a bit far-fetched given the location of individuals, so attending can b optional & as u saw with this version, have a limited no. 20 to 50 and I am sure u r bound to get a show of hands.
I am sure this is bound to generate great interest, if done on a regular basis.
Given that most of us have shared our thoughts without personal prejudice for all HC users (mid, long or short termers), I think this will b another way of taking things a step further.
Just my thoughts
regards
ya
