    true. And it is all very well to think you re being supportive but to do that in a way that leaves the other person disempowered
    Did she we get ask what Higgins wants, why she was reluctant to go to the police, how she was feeling, what might help, what options there might be?

    dod she ask questions to build understanding and then work from there or did she tell, set things up without checking, take action without Higgins knowing?

    if she did the latter it’s no wonder that Higgins felt unsupported. And it doesn’t matter what reynolds thinks.

    these are basics but people who need to feel they are in charge or know the answers can’t help themselves. A middle aged plus woman with a 19 year old. There’s a oower imbalance that needs managing in these situations
