So you really think that a half baked promise of banning sales of petrol, diesel and hybrid cars in Britain in 15 yrs time will seriously affect the price of a barrel of oil? Aside from the fact that there will remain millions of non new vehicles that will still run on petrol & diesel for 10 to 20 yrs beyond that , don't forget that fuel for cars isn't the only product made from a barrel of crude oil e.g heating oil, diesel fuel, jet fuel, propane, petrochemical feedstock, the manufacturing of chemicals, synthetic rubber, and plastics, and many common household products, including
crayons, dishwashing liquids, deodorant, eyeglasses, tyres, ammonia - and the list goes on.
