    The Liberal Party are more welcome to adopt that position if that's what they believe to be correct. Whatever the case, her welfare is in no way the responsibility of the Labor Party. Where this may get more difficult for the Liberals is that the alleged rapist was sacked for a "security breach" related to the night concerned. What they haven't done is articulate what the security breach was. Journalists have been saying it is common for staffers to return to ministerial offices late at night after consuming alcohol. We know that security found Higgins in a distressed state after the encounter. Was the male staffer sacked for leaving Higgins in a distressed state, with the hierarchy of the Liberal Party determined to bury it under the euphemism of a "security breach."
