Interesting you mention the Eastern Europeans in Britain.
My brother-in-law (in London) employed some Eastern European Tradies for about three weeks maybe more.
We had all gone to Greece and when we returned, I couldn't get over how little had been achieved.
Any number of Tradies in Australia have dozens of Ethnic Origins and I've never come across the Tradies here going slower than a wet (three) weeks.
The London experience appeared to be a case of no urgency to do a job and then get to the next one.
My brother-in-law said he employed them because they were cheaper than British Tradies...................... my own view is that he would have done better to have flown in Australian Tradies.................. and we have nearly every ethnicity in the Trades here.
There appears to be a malaise eating away at the Fabric of British Society.

Yes the Greek tradies especially concrete form workers and brickies are held in very high regard in Australia and have been for over 50 years use to work along side (not with them ) them in Katherine and after work they were very entertaining to
