Perhaps the trend is down not up!? It appears to me at least in some areas that people are getting dumber and dumber as to who they choose for their leaders. Witness what has been happening here in Australia since Turnbull, Rudd et al started the ball rolling downhill to demolish our once-great nation. In any case, once the pain becomes unbearable in key issues, such as the cost of living, more and more people will have to turn on their brains to start thinking again. Most of them will get headaches doing that as it's been a long time for them. The problem of course is it will be too late by then. Not only the damage has gone too far to repair, but the system will also need a complete reset. It will be very nasty.
