It'll be better putting massive tariff on Iron ore export and use the funds to build more cheap housing. Ban all immigration so that housing can collapse to affordable level pre-Howard. It's negative gearing, duh. Look at China and the same real estate problem but where is the mass immigration? They are now using controlled implosion on RE to mitigate another Domestic GFC.
The tariff part is of course a joke but Shorten wanted to tackle the negative gearing, the people preferred unaffordable housing.
