The 'elites' know exactly what they are doing. They are encouraging the minorities to feel victimised and to blame and attack the majority as being responsible. The majority are being punished for any response except contrition to embolden the minorities and frustrate their response.
The whole purpose is to crush democracy and impose total power on the people of that nation.
