"instead of trying to trap me why don’t you look up the meaning of the word ‘petition’".

I wasn't trying to trap you, I was attempting some level of intelligent discourse on a subject you seem to be implying you know something about.

"why don’t you look up the meaning of the word ‘petition’."

Why? My experience with MANY well supported petitions signed by hundreds of thousands of citizens is that the response from government is basically "Screw you guys, we don't care what you want, we are sticking to our agenda whether you like it or not."

And from your own reply: "While the petition system provides a way for citizens to directly address Parliament, it's important to note:

    - Petitions don't force the government to take action[3]."

    THEREFORE NO DEMOCRACY!!!!!

Can it be more plainer that that? We are a 2-party legislative dictatorship where we (ostensibly) 'elect' which bunch of tools get to lord it over us for the next 3 years with ZERO say in what they do and don't do. Prove me wrong.
