Interesting point is at the moment "peak demand" is nighttime not daytime, and its primarily a/cs, lighting, hotwater driving that peak.
Grid generation capacity is largely wasted through the day...so with a whole bunch of green/renewable generation plus the excess capacity, why not charge the bulk of the elctric cars as they sit idle in carparks etc.
