IMHO. her choice of taking this story first to the media was a poor choice, because the reality is, the defense will seek to find flaws in her statements and highlight them. If it was handed to the AFP in the first place, we might have got somewhere to the truth, but now we will get a defense built around her own media statements.
This case will really highlight how emotional and futile our society has become from being fed sensational heart tugging stories by the media.
My hearts bleed for all the victims of our indigenous communities having to hear about this one!

Brittany apparently did contact the AFP soon after the alleged event, then in the days that followed withdrew the complaint. There will be records. Fear not.
