The difference between Analog and Digital as far as I know is the amount of detail,more data in a digital file,more sequences which create clarity (e.g Music file)
Its like the difference between Microscopic down to Nanoscopic down to Picoscopic down to Femtoscopic.
Each step down contains more,and can also provide more of whatever it is you're applying it to. (e.g in our case a silicon chip for data transfer and application)
