Yeah there are quite a few autonomous haul packs running round now. The Rio loco's are autonomous for the long runs, only have drivers for shunting and work around loading and port areas.
We even have remote controlled D11 dozens at the port. Drivers sit in a comfy air conditioned room with big screens and drive. People are becoming redundant, but they can't fix themselves yet so my job is safe for a bit
