Just my opinion and not trading advice, but from what I had read, it seems the ADRs are going to be better for those who aren't planning on holding their investments long-term. While the ADRs will be easier and perhaps cost less to acquire, there are still the taxes/foreign exchange fees going on behind the scenes and those holding ADRs do not actually own the common stock, thereby not having the same rights as the actual stockholder.

My current strategy, now that the ADRs are available, is to put a portion of funds into the actual OTCQX:BRCHF stocks that I plan on holding long-term (5+ years) and then purchase the OTCQX:BCHPY (without paying my broker the $50 foreign settlement fee) in my individual account, where I plan on selling (or holding depending on the price/market action) just after a year.

Why just after a year? Because that's how long I have to hold onto an investment to pay the lowest capital gains tax (15% at this time) and have access to those funds in a shorter period than those sitting in my retirement account. Meanwhile, the shares in my retirement account will be actual shares. I'm thinking of using the ADRs as a Christmas fund for 2022.
