Yak, I am not against shorting. I personally don't short stocks, but I don't mind people doing it as long as they don't downramp the company to cause panic amongst public, and also if someone thinks the stock is overvalued, they have the right to bet against it. They are taking massive risk due to the unlimited risk potential and will help the sp on the move up when they have to buy it back at some stage. So depending on the risk tolerance I don't care if someone shorts it (though secretly I like when they lose it lol)
What I am personally against is the bot trading. That definitely should be illegal and I don't understand why our government, asic / toothless tigers, or asx is supporting bot trading.
You are much more experienced in trading than me, so happy to be corrected if my knowledge in shorting along the lines of my opinion is wrong.
