The announcement
Leading distributor Quadtel Ltd (ASX:QTL) is pleased to update the
market on progress within its Broadband Business Unit, headed up by
Mr Denis Orrock.
The ACCC has just released the latest figures regarding broadband
services take-up in Australia. The number of ADSL subscribers had
increased from 26,600 at31 July 2001 to 128,100 at 30 September
2002. This represents an increase of 382% in 14 months. Quarterly
growth is averaging 40% and our market share is remaining consistent
at 11%. This is great news for Quadtel.
Quadtel's distribution agreements with iPrimus, Ozemail and iHug are
progressing well. These ISPs are increasing their residential and SME
customer base consistently each month. "We're witnessing the
broadband success in Australia. The ISPs can't work fast enoughto
get their customers connected," commented Denis Orrock. He continues,
"The broadband business is at the moment proving to be a
money-generating machine which everybody is keen to get into,
demonstrated by the increasing number of small ISPs approaching us
and the increasing number of modem orders from tier 2 and tier 3
ISPs."
Revenue generated from our Broadband Business Unit is now accounting
for over 20% of our Quarterly revenue and Quadtel expects this to
continue growing.
