Just when you thought it was safe to . . . Sorry, bp, you are entirely correct. Latterly, I've taken to trying not to use UK when writing about England because England is where I come from, not some far flung part, which wishes it weren't attached. That's what tripped me up, however, does the Caledonian Canal let me half off the hook?
