Cobalt is mainly a byproduct of Nickel and Copper. Nickel is where the problem lies as you need 50kg/ battery pack and there ain’t enough so that is going to slow the delivery of EV’s down. There might be plenty of Nickel that can be extracted by the mining industry but there are not enough refineries in the world. Refineries can cost up to $1 billion and obviously take years to develop and there is not to many companies investing in them today. JRV owns 2 Cobalt refineries and one Nickel refinery and has no off takes for any of their products which is what they have intended all along expecting to supply the highest bidder for their products.
