I just read the article. Nothing really that new. China market will use mostly LFP however we knew that already.

GM have developed a new battery called Ultium. They will use this new battery for quite some time going forward. They claim its a breakthrough in battery design and guess what is has COBALT in it. There putting this tech in all their cars going forward. They sold 6.3 million cars worldwide in 2021. Thats just 1 year. COB broken Hill plant has cobalt for just 5 million cars. So wont even cover 1 car companies 1 year demand.

The world will need COB for both supply and ethical supply. Supply that has an origin friendly to all the western countries.

In 15 years time, maybe there might be some new battery tech that will take over everything. LFP is not it. But for this decade COB will be needed.

Obviously we will have recessions and inflation issues that will effect demand for Cobalt and everything else for that matter however

My focus is on COB itself. Have they released the government grant money to fast track DFS? Have samples actually been sent? Or has there been delays in this. Offtake agreements wont come until Demo plant has been operational and delivered samples.
