Cobalt is in the game as the density king, Sodium is very young and density poor.
Another point to raise is the fact the supplychain infra isn't anywhere as well developed as the first gen battery metals (namely Nickel, Manganese, Cobalt, Lithium to name a few).
Whether anyone likes it or not, Cobalt will always be around and in use in not just car batteries but other use.
Above any threats to COB, I'd say population collapse is worse (for example Birthrates for KR 0.84, ITALY 1.2 and other countries are also following suit, but this will still take 2-3 decades) than any other risks mentioned in this forum.
