My take on the market for Cobalt and Lithium and any other component material of batteries suited for deployment into EV's is stalling due to the uncertainty of the quantum requirements necessary and the time lines when the switch from Internal Combustion Engines will actually take place. That together with the supply of the critical materials, where they are found, and in what countries, and under what laws in those countries, which controls the extraction. Those elements are complicating comparisons of supply and demand, which as we all know ultimately effects the end price per tonne.
This uncertainty can adversely effect COB, which is yet to finalize the approval process allowing extraction of material and which could then see it ready to go but with no commitment from off take partners or capital available to commence mining.
COB has to complete its feasibilities and keep to its time line at this stage and hope the critical metals market experiences a correction.
