Unfortunately for COB, the price of cobalt has slumped and makes getting finance much harder. This puts them at a big disadvantage to some bigger players who have cash to sink into a project like this. We need to see cobalt price rise sooner rather than later if we are going to secure a partner on good terms.
imo it is a bit of a balancing act; need a partner to progress project to be producing when shortage comes, but don’t want to sign up too early and get a bad deal. My guess is JK will hold back until prices firm a bit and he can get a good deal with a partner. Might be another 6-12 months till the stars align but it could be worth the wait. This will be a 2024 winner imo. 2023 will be just downright annoying as we watch the share price sitting way below the 80c we saw this time last year.
