It's a specialty refining future. Happy to say COB's management have been all over this for a long while. China with its massive first mover advantage in cobalt refining have established many mainland hubs. Unaware or just lazy the West has funnelled billions of dollars to China in orders, in effect building its biggest competitors advantage.
We should not bother dwelling on this too much, we know the penny dropped fully with Covid, not sure why it took a pandemic to see that you cannot fund and build a competitive refining infrastructure in China and expect all will be ok in the West, Countries/Areas are competitive by nature, the West is in competition with lots of economies, China is the main one and you can't be cap in hand to any competitive National State.
So what's all this mean for a COB? is it more dangerous or more exciting, is it bigger or smaller, I wonder what folk think.
The management of change during the pilot plant build through to the demonstration plant and mine functions are impressive.
Just today we have the Indian leader speaking specifically on critical materials and how best to fund projects. The rapid and focused concentration all over the West in accessing metal sulphates has to show some on the ground concrete moves soon IMO.
