June 2nd 2009 Cameroon.PM receives delegation from United Arab States. In part. The United Arab Emirate is seeking Cameroon's support to host the headquarters of the world centre for renewable energy.In return they propose to fund major projects in the country.
During their exchange,the Prime Minister seized the opportunity to the visiting investors some key projects. The creation of a bank for SME'S in the agricultural sector.In the domain of energy,the plan to modernise the National Oil Refinery (SONARA).Urban development. The development of the capital city,Yaonde,linking the city to the Nsimalen International Airport,construction of the Olembe Nkoabang road,and the Sangmelima-Djoum-Ouesso express road linking Cameroon and the Congo Brazzaville not forgetting the construction of the Yaounde-Doula freeway.
There is also the possibility of funding research projects on the Cameroonian sub-soil and different mining projects including the construction of the hydro electric dam at Bernir Warrack in the Adamawa Region. The United Arab Emirates will be building an Embassy in Cameroon. They are ready to invest in any sector the Cameroon Government proposed,and are emphatic on their resolve to move as fast as possible.
The Camerounaise Bank has been taken over by the Moroccan Bank Attijari Wafa Bank who have 25 billion Euros of Capital.They are looking to open many more branches,the CEO of the bank confirmed the ambition of the bank to be a reliable partner for the development of Cameroon.
