Eyes,
Being operator for offshore drilling (except perhaps very shallow water) is simply not something for a junior oiler.
Unlike others here I am not blaming Apache for any malfeasance or incompetence. Stuff happens, but people inside and outside always get prematurely excited, that is what repeats.
Now maybe you can see the wisdom of having a seperate program, the new leases. It's about not having all your eggs in one basket, no matter who is operating.
