Retail Figures for November have just come out, with department store sales up 2.8%. This could be the reason for the sp increasing from 3.60 to 3.65 today.
On the other hand, many of these sales were accomplised through bargains and discounts, which could be unsustainable without impacting the bottom line (commsec).
The retail figures for December won't be known until February, but this momentum may cause the sp to rise by then.
