Well, I think you will find most successful "investors" would never consider using buy and sell spreads as an indicator for buying or selling. Simply irrelevant for a long-term investment.
Traders - definitely. And the point remains, many remove their orders before close of trading, and more on a Friday heading into the weekend.
But carry on doing what you do if it's profitable.
